With a wide range of chassis options available, this flexible server solution can be tailored to fit a variety of enterprise workloads. Read Drive Options
The Dell PowerEdge R7615 offers two rear drive options, supported only on the 12 LFF and 24 SFF backplane chassis configurations: a stacked side-by-side 4xSFF drive cage and a side-by-side 2xSFF drive cage. Both options occupy the same space as certain PCIe slots. The table below outlines all available configurations for the Dell PowerEdge R7615 rack server.
AMD Processor & Heatsink
The Dell PowerEdge R7615 supports one 4th Generation AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor, with up to 128 cores per processor.
Heatsink & Fans
The Dell PowerEdge R7615 requires specific cooling components based on CPU TDP, storage modules, rear drives, GPU presence, and persistent memory, ensuring optimal thermal performance across configurations. GPU installations require an L-Type heat sink. The system supports two cooling options — air cooling or optional Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC), with DLC required for certain CPU SKUs and configurations. Note that DLC is not a self-contained solution and requires rack-level support (see DLC 3000 or DLC 7000 products).
The Dell PowerEdge R7615 supports up to six high-performance fans, available in Silver (HPR SLVR) or Gold (HPR Gold) grades.

Memory Options
With a single processor, the Dell PowerEdge R7615 rack server supports 12 DDR5 DIMM slots, with RDIMMs up to 3TB max and speeds up to 4800 MT/s. The R7615 supports registered ECC DDR5 DIMMs only.
Unbuffered DIMMs (UDIMMs) are not supported.

The Dell PowerEdge R7615 supports up to two 10/100/1000 Mbps Network Interface Controller (NIC) ports, available via the embedded LAN on Motherboard (LOM) and integrated Open Compute Project (OCP) cards.

Storage Controllers Options
The Dell PowerEdge R7615 supports PERC 11 and PERC 12 cards for RAID and networking functionality. For mixed-drive configurations, two options are available: the 24-bay Universal Chassis with direct-connect NVMe ports supporting up to 8 drives, or the 8 SFF NVMe Chassis paired with an additional 8 SFF Universal backplane for a total of 16 drives. Note that the 8 SFF NVMe backplane is not direct-connect and requires an fPERC installation.
